Personal project / 2013-2021
An experimental project exploring algorithmic character generation turned into an NFT collectibles. One thousand unique characters were made based on a relatively small amount of creation rules.
Process
The project was done using the visual programming environment ICE in Autodesk Softimage. Some coding and node wiring allowed me to make a thousand characters in just a few weeks which otherwise would take months of labor in a more traditional workflow.
Results
Originally created in 2013, Ksoids were a personal project that engaged my love for procedural design and wild animals. To my surprise, the Ksoids exploded in popularity, attracting attention from around the world and becoming one of the first generative 3D characters to find life online. Now eight years later, Ksoids are transformed into 1,000 NFTs.
Please visit the project`s mini-site to take a look at high-res renders of all 1000 Ksoids and use your chance to adopt one (or two!)
